Dawn of a New Age

Tattooing and piercing is an integral aspect of modern western culture.   For many, the choice to get a tattoo or piercing is merely an aesthetic one.   The process of choosing to alter your body, deciding on the medium (tattoo or piercing), choosing the design, placement or jewellery to adorn you is based on creating a “look”.  For many people the aesthetic is the desired outcome.

However, the process of getting tattooed or pierced may also have a deeper significance.  It may be a choice to acknowledge a particular time in your life, a major event, the passing of a loved one.  The process itself becomes cathartic.  It is part of healing or creating closure or a choice to move on from that time.

In our current situation, one in which the profound and unfathomable consequences are yet to be fully understood, tattooing and piercing may actually play a vital and important role.

The global pandemic has united us in the human condition.  Exposing our frailty and weakness in the face of disease.  Our need to mark ourselves as part of the human tribe may well be a part of the path to healing, to remind us that we are all connected.

It stands to reason that the nature of our service will be altered.  But part of our job has been to bring people though an uncomfortable and anxiety filled experience.

Now more than ever these social support skills will be needed.  Humans are delicate creatures. We need nurturing, caring and love and support to survive.  Even when choosing to get tattooed or pierced it is worth considering who will lead you through that process.  Obviously someone with a thorough understanding of Infection Control practices is of primary importance.  And their ability to execute an exceptional tattoo or piercing goes without saying. But someone who is kind, supportive and understanding will provide the kind of experience you can carry with you for the rest of your life to draw upon in times of trouble.  Our team is committed to finding creative and innovative ways to deliver our service to you in the safest and healthiest way possible.

So for now, stay safe, stay home and dream of your next body art journey! We’ll be ready for you when the time comes.
